About the Symposium
To celebrate 10 years of academic excellence, the Department of Oceanography, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, is organizing the International Symposium on Coast, Climate and Community. The symposium will bring together researchers, policymakers, development partners, practitioners, and community voices to explore coastal systems, climate change, and community resilience. It aims to foster knowledge sharing, collaboration, and innovative solutions for sustainable coastal and marine management.

The symposium welcomes contributions related to the following themes:
- Blue Economy and Sustainable Ocean Development
- Coastal Conservation and Ecosystem Management
- Marine Spatial Planning and Coastal Governance

- Community Livelihoods, Equity, and Rights
- Observation Systems, Data, and Decision Support
- Source-to-Sea Dynamics and Pollution
- Transboundary Coastal Challenges and Cooperation
Symposium Format
This will be an in-person two-day symposium hosted at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Sylhet, Bangladesh. The program will include:
- Keynote presentations
- Parallel thematic sessions
- Oral and poster presentations
- Moderated discussions and interactive dialogue with coastal communities
- Networking and collaboration opportunities across disciplines and sectors
- Special workshop on Affordable Coastal Observation of SAGITTA Project of the NF-POGO Alumni Network of the Ocean (NANO)

Submission Details
Participants are invited to submit an abstract in DOC format, including the title, theme, author names with affiliations, and an abstract of no more than 250 words.
